Affordability means so much to families across Minnesota, whether it’s the price we pay for medication, our grocery bills, or our rent payments. As Attorney General, Keith is using Minnesota law to take on the drug companies, hedge-fund landlords, and price-fixing schemes driving up costs, and he's not done.
Health Care
Securing $35 Insulin
Keith guaranteed that every Minnesotan, insured or not, can buy insulin for just $35 a month. He took on Big Pharma for price-gouging insulin, a drug people need to survive, and won a massive price cut for all Minnesotans. Keith ultimately forced the three biggest manufacturers to drop their prices from hundreds of dollars per month to just $35. Nobody should have to ration insulin because of its price tag. Thanks to Keith, they no longer have to.
Taking on Generic Drug Price-Fixing
Keith has repeatedly taken generic drug manufacturers to court for price-fixing medications Minnesotans rely on every day, from diabetes drugs to arthritis treatments. Keith won settlements with major pharma companies and put money back in the pockets of Minnesotans who were ripped off.
Passing the Debt Fairness Act
Keith led the fight to pass the Minnesota Debt Fairness Act, a law that stops medical debt from wrecking a family's finances. Nobody chooses to get sick and need expensive medical care. That’s why Keith’s bill stops hospitals from denying medical care over unpaid bills and stops medical debt from automatically transferring from one spouse to another.
Protecting the Future of Medical Care in Minnesota
Keith protected more than a million Minnesotans' access to medical care when the partnership behind the state's academic medical system, Fairview Health Services, the University of Minnesota, and University of Minnesota Physicians, nearly came apart. He worked with the parties every step of the way to find a new agreement that will work for everyone, especially the people of Minnesota. Keith’s work prevented a collapse that would put patient care, physician training, and research across Minnesota at risk.
Keith is also using his authority over healthcare mergers to protect the accessibility and availability of healthcare services across Minnesota, especially in rural communities.
Housing Costs
Holding Bad Landlords Accountable
When hedge-fund landlord Havenbrook Homes tried to increase profits by refusing to repair its hundreds of rental homes, Keith took them to court and won. The hedge-fund landlord had people living with mold, broken furnaces, and even live, wild animals in their homes. Keith won over $4 million for their tenants, and the company agreed to leave Minnesota and transfer their houses to affordable housing non-profits. The homes are being rehabilitated and put on the market at affordable prices.
Fighting Landlord Rent-Fixing
Keith took on RealPage, a software company that let competing landlords secretly share private pricing data so they could raise rents in lockstep instead of competing for tenants, a scheme that's making rent more expensive across America. Keith won’t let big tech companies collude with landlords to rip off the people of Minnesota.
Protecting Manufactured Home Residents
Keith has fought to keep manufactured housing affordable and livable for the Minnesotans who call it home. When a property manager threatened mass evictions across nine manufactured home communities over invasive, unfair inspections, Keith stepped in and got the company to back down, stop threatening residents, and follow the law. He's also made a national manufactured-home operator pay $135,000 after it collected pandemic rent-relief funds while trying to evict the very tenants that money was meant to protect.
FOOD PRICES
Cracking Down on Meatpacking Price-Fixing
Keith won a major fight against Agri Stats, a data firm that helped almost all meat processors in America secretly trade sensitive price information so they could quietly jack up prices as high as possible on chicken, pork, and turkey. After Keith took Agri Stats to court, the company backed down and agreed to stop sharing information that meat processors can use to raise your grocery bills.
Winning the Right to Repair for Farmers
Keith won farmers the right to fix their own equipment. He sued John Deere for locking farmers and independent repair shops out of the software and parts needed to repair Deere equipment. This forced farmers to rely on Deere authorized dealers, which were often more expensive and further away for farmers in Greater Minnesota. Thanks to Keith’s lawsuit, Deere is now providing farmers with the tools and software they need to fix their own equipment.
Standing Up to Tariffs
Keith fought back when Trump's tariffs drove up costs for Minnesota farmers, small businesses, and grocery shoppers. He ultimately won that lawsuit and forced Trump to lift his tariffs. Unfortunately, Trump imposed a new round of tariffs soon after, which Keith is also fighting in court.

Fighting Ticketmaster’s Monopoly
Keith sued Ticketmaster’s parent company, LiveNation, for illegally eliminating competition and driving up ticket prices for the American people. Keith was suing Ticketmaster alongside the Department of Justice, and when Trump took office, he tried to cut Ticketmaster a sweetheart deal. Keith wouldn’t stand for that, and continued the lawsuit against Ticketmaster all the way to court.
