Every Friday, the Ellison Campaign will highlight a Volunteer of the Week to show our appreciation for all of our volunteers’ hard work. We can’t do this without them! Make a difference and click here to sign up to volunteer.
Earlier this week, our team was busy getting out the vote for our Democratic Primary Election.
After each night’s last phone call was made and last door was knocked, there were piles of call sheets and door knock packets that needed to be logged into our database.
“Alex’s hard work made a BIG difference,” says Ellison Campaign Organizing Director David Leonard. “Without solid data entry by volunteers like Alex, we could not run an effective Get Out The Vote operation.”
Ten years ago, Alex began independently creating and distributing political flyers. Since this past April, he has been volunteering on the Ellison Campaign several times a week to enter data collected on the phones and at the doorsteps of voters across Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District.
“This is my first time being part of an organization,” says Alex. “I very much believe in what Keith has to say and what he’s doing. It’s something I wanted to be a part of.”
Like many other Ellison campaign volunteers, Alex is driven by a core belief that grassroots organizing can truly improve people’s lives.
“The experience of getting people out to vote is so powerful,” Alex says. “I really think that we can make an impact and do everything within our power to make progress and make the world a better place.”
Volunteers will make the difference in this election. We need you to join Alex and be a part of our team.
