Giving Thanks and Sharing Our Blessings

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

A holiday message from Congressman Keith Ellison:

Dear friends,

This Thanksgiving, I hope you’ll have an opportunity to gather with loved ones and give thanks for all the blessings in our lives.

While we have much to be thankful for, it’s also important to recognize that lots of folks are struggling every day to keep a roof over their heads and put food on the table.

I believe the greatness of our nation lies in a spirit of generosity and compassion for people in need. Millions of our fellow Americans have lost their jobs and homes over the past few years, so we need to roll up our sleeves and dig deep to share our blessings any way we can.

Please consider donating non-perishable food items or making a financial contribution to a local food shelf in your community.

With your help, we can lend a hand to struggling families and share our blessings with people who have fallen on hard times.

I hope you and yours enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.
