Get Corporate Money Out of Politics
The Citizens United Supreme Court decision opened the floodgates for unlimited corporate campaign spending. As a result, corporations have more influence in picking our country’s leaders than ever before.
To protect the health of our democracy and ensure that ordinary Americans’ voices are not drowned out, Keith introduced the Get Corporate Money Out of Politics Constitutional amendment.
This amendment reverses Citizens United by:
- Declaring that corporations are not people
- Citing the compelling public interest to prevent corruption among election officials
- Reinstating the ability of Congress and the States to regulate funds used for political activity by for-profit corporations and similar entities
