In 2006, you elected Keith because you wanted a strong voice in Congress to speak out against the war in Iraq.
In 2008, we sent Barack Obama to the White House and gained a partner to end a war that cost our nation a total of $1 trillion.
Despite Republican opposition, we continued organizing for peace, and on December 15, 2011, we brought our troops home from Iraq.
We're now hearing a troubling drumbeat for military operations in Iran. With the painful lessons learned from Iraq still fresh in our minds, starting a new war is the last thing our country needs.
Just like he stood up to the Iraq war in 2006, Keith is currently leading the charge to prevent an unnecessary war with Iran.
From the onset of the Iraq war, we’ve organized for peace. It took more than one election cycle to end the war—with broad, national coalitions working together to elect candidates who shared our values.
In 2012, it’s our responsibility to continue organizing for peace so we can prevent another costly, unnecessary war.
