This blog post comes from HRC Director Tom Knabel:
Last week, I had the opportunity to participate in HRC’s Lobby Day – where HRC members and supporters from across the country head to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to meet with members of Congress to discuss issues of LGBT equality. I spent the day meeting with members of the Minnesota delegation.
Our first meeting was with Congressman Keith Ellison, one of the most supportive members of the House on LGBT issues. We thanked Rep. Ellison for his co-sponsorship of all of our bills and his fantastic work with us to defeat the anti-marriage amendment in Minnesota that will be on the ballot in November.
We also met with other supportive lawmakers, and discussed strategies for moving the needle with lawmakers who still must do more on our issues.
