Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Via Ellison for Congress:

Rep. Keith Ellison released the following statement regarding American Crystal Sugar’s ongoing lockout of over 1,300 workers from the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM):

“I am proud to stand with over 1,300 locked out workers by joining a boycott of American Crystal Sugar products.

I have repeatedly called upon American Crystal Sugar President and CEO David Berg to join workers at the bargaining table to reach a fair settlement.

Countless families have suffered for far too long. Our workers and their families deserve a fair, dignified contract that provides affordable health care and job stability.

I encourage people from all communities to join the boycott of American Crystal Sugar products to send a clear message that our workers deserve better.”
