Co-Sign Keith's Bills and Protect Our Right to Vote

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Friends,

You've heard the stories: the 91-year old Tennessee woman blocked from obtaining a voter ID; a Florida teacher saddled with massive fines for helping her students register to vote; and a recent study concluded that South Carolina's anti-voter law hits minorities the hardest, violating the Voting Rights Act.

How did we get to this point? Republican legislatures are pushing legislation designed to restrict your access to the ballot. It is a thinly veiled partisan power play and it must be stopped.

That's why last week, I introduced legislation to ban these efforts to block seniors, young people, and minorities from voting. Will you join me in support of voter rights and become a co-sponsor?

Here in Minnesota, conservatives are already sharpening their attacks on my work to protect voter rights—and I need your help to fend them off.

Far too many fought, bled, and died to ensure these rights for future generations. We cannot idly standby while our fundamental rights as Americans are chipped away in a partisan power play.

This Election Day, co-sign my legislation protecting voter rights and ask your friends and family to support our efforts.

I can't do this without your help.

Sincerely,

Keith

P.S.: Don't forget! Today is Election Day. Make your voice heard. Go out and vote. Check with your Secretary of State's office and find your polling location.
