Keith Ellison for Congress Organizing Intern – Fall 2017

Position Overview:
Keith Ellison for Congress is accepting applications for interns. Interns will work closely with the campaign’s staff in three departments: finance, communications and organizing. Duties vary based on the department but most positions will involve time doing research, making phone calls, attending events, doing data entry and assisting the staff. Interns will gain valuable professional experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, as well as have the opportunity to network with staff and other political figures. The internship is unpaid.

Responsibilities:
*Data management, including updating contact information for donors and campaign allies
*Preparing mailings

*Donor research
*Event planning and management
*Attending and staffing local events
*Direct Voter Contact

Qualifications:
We are looking for interns who possess an interest in progressive politics, a good attitude, and strong multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and internet based research is required. Candidates should be detail-oriented, well-organized, passionate about working in a diverse community, and committed to public service. Women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQ community, and other traditionally disadvantaged groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience on political campaigns and/or advocacy organizations, or who plan to stay in politics, will be given prime consideration.

Availability should be a minimum of 10 hours per week
